Automation and Industrial IT Specialist

Title: Automation and Industrial IT Specialist (Contract)
Location: Cambridge (Hybrid)

The Automation and Industrial IT specialist is responsible for defining and implementing a global management of automated and industrial IT systems for the group. This includes all aspects of the process from end to end which include, conceptual & detailed design, equipment construction, start up, operation, maintenance systems, monitoring systems, reporting systems for equipment and facility computer and control systems/electrical systems

Job Description:

  • The primary global contact and subject matter expert for the automation, industrial data processing and industrial networks systems
  • Complete continuous inventory of all system (industrial computers, PLC, …) for each industrial system and equipment, also considering operating system, network, connectivity, etc …
  • Evaluate the status of DRP (disaster recovery plan) for each system. Implement relevant procedure.
  • Evaluate data integrity compliance, define guidelines for new systems and propose/deploy action plans for existing system if noncompliant. Lead and support risk assessments for control systems for GMP, 21CFRpt11 compliance and Data integrity, using tools such as FMEA.
  • Cyber-security (working with IT): deploy the action plan to secure the different systems.  . Define the strategy for industrial manufacturing system patch management.
  • Define common and/or local rules and methodology for IT industrial system operation (back-up/restore, data integrity, security) for all sites
  • . Own, lead & adapt the global automation obsolescence program for sites and manage the deployment of obsolescence program in conjunction with Septodont Harmonization Strategy.  Pilot a global plan for the different sites, including obsolescence management, DRP, cyber-security and data-integrity. Participate to a multi-year capital plan definition.
  • Support a continuous improvement process for all topics of the scope in the group, including corrective and preventive actions
  • Investigate the need for new systems and propose improvement projects. Assist with cross training related to best practices inside this scope by providing support and training when necessary
  • Participate in the design and specification generation process for Electrical and Control Systems facility and process equipment, including design specifications, functional specifications and user requirement specification.
  • Work with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Technical Services, IT, Maintenance …) within the different sites to deliver new Electrical and Control Systems equipment, facilities and capabilities.
  • Manage manufacturing & IT stakeholders during the planning, execution & handover of Industrial IT/Cyber security projects

Requirement:

  • 5-7 years experience in automation and industrial IT
  • Familiarity with production line (pharmaceutical or food industry preferred)
  • Good understanding of obsolescence
  • Understanding of control drawings
  • Experience with network communication, setup of access, reviewing specifications, network segmentation, network virtualization
