Database Administrator is to support existing team and ensure that  IT databases and related applications are available and reliable at all times. The Administrator also ensures that expected results are delivered to the user community according to agreed performance standards. In addition to day-to-day activities, he/she is involved in infrastructure and application projects to ensure the implementation of resilient, high-performance databases.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

? Participate and actively contribute to project and maintenance activities by defining/designing functional and technical databases, backup and intermediate level specifications, and supporting their implementation. 
? Plan, execute and monitor daily backups and database recovery. 

SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

? Proven track record in installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting legacy Oracle and MySQL databases on UNIX and Linux platforms.
? Experience with Microsoft SQL 2014, 2016 and 2019.
? Oracle and/or SQL Server database certification – a definite asset.
? Experience in Oracle database administration in an ERP environment – an asset.
? Experience in GCP CloudSQL – an asset.
? Experience in configuring high-availability databases and performing recovery tests in disaster recovery environments.
? Extensive project experience, with demonstrated ability to implement processes and methodologies.
