ALTEN Canada has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Author.
 
Required skills:
At least five years' experience producing S1000D compliant data modules ideally for maritime equipment, and preferably produced and maintained within a Common Source Database (CSDB) system
At least five years' experience of using Microsoft Word to produce technical publications, including operating manuals (or user guides), and maintenance manuals, preferably in Defence
At least five years' experience of writing technical descriptions, equipment operating procedures, maintenance procedures (including diagnostic maintenance procedures, routine maintenance schedules and procedures, and remove and install procedures), and illustrated lists of parts
At least five years' experience of using graphics packages such as MS Visio, and Corel Draw, to produce illustrations for use in MS Word documents
At least five years’ experience using graphics packages such as Iso Draw, to produce illustrations for use in S1000D data modules
At least five years’ experience in operating, maintaining, or technically supporting equipment, preferably in the defence environment
Experience compiling S1000D data modules into print-based documents and/or Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETPs) / Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs)
 
Experience that is considered an asset:
Experience writing technical publications in the Canadian Defence environment (such as Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTOs) or IETPs / IETMs)
experience compiling S1000D data modules in to print-based documents and/or IETPs / IETMs
experience writing technical publications in the Canadian Defence environment (such as Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTOs) or IETPs / IETMs)
experience compiling S1000D data modules in to print-based documents and/or IETPs / IETMs
